We all knew retail sales would spike with consumers stocking their “panic pantries” and “quarantine kitchens,” but how long will the sales shift last?

While fresh produce gains lagged behind other areas like meat and canned vegetables, we think there’s going to be a noticeable shift in consumer buying behavior over the next two weeks as pantries and freezers fill up.

Another important area to focus on is snacking, Anne-Marie says, with consumers and their families home all day. Meal planning and shopping needs to consider more than just dinner.
