Provision Analytics names food safety expert as strategic advisor

Mar 14, 2024 Calgary, Canada — Provision Analytics has appointed Dr. Jennifer McEntire as its Strategic Advisor and head of its new Strategic Advisory Group.

Founded in 2018, Provision is a popular cloud software that streamlines food safety recordkeeping and risk management for fresh produce operations.

Dr. McEntire rose to prominence as Chief Food Safety and Regulatory Officer at the International Fresh Produce Association, receiving the 2020 NSF International Food Safety Leadership Award and the 2023 Harold Barnum Industry Award. In 2023, she launched Food Safety Strategy – a consultancy that helps food safety leaders interpret evolving risks and requirements, actioning smart solutions to protect brands and consumers alike.

Dr. McEntire’s expertise is well-established as a member of the technical committee for the Center for Produce Safety, and as a peer reviewer for many food safety journals. She has held leadership positions across the food safety sector, including the Grocery Manufacturers Association, The Acheson Group, and the Institute of Food Technologists.

Dr. McEntire led the FSMA 204 traceability pilots, helping shape requirements for the most prominent regulation of our time. Dr. McEntire earned a PhD from Rutgers University as a USDA National Needs Fellow in Food Safety, and holds a Bachelor of Science with Distinction, magna cum laude, in Food Science from the University of Delaware.

Dr. McEntire has long been an advocate for technology-enabled solutions in food safety. As head of Provision’s Strategic Advisory Group, Dr. McEntire will lead a roundtable including five of food safety’s most renowned experts. The Group will counsel Provision’s product development, ensuring the software meets the most pressing needs for compliance and risk management across the supply chain.
