Markon Cooperative BB #:123315 released this crop update.

November 23, 2022 — Colder areas of the Arizona/California desert growing region are experiencing light-to moderate lettuce ice this morning.

Harvesting and production delays of up to 3 hours are expected. The forecast calls for more of the same on Friday, November 25 and more widespread lettuce ice on Saturday, November 26.

Markon inspectors are starting to see the effects of the last several mornings of light ice on various lettuce crops such as dehydration and minor discoloration on protection leaves. Epidermal blistering has been minimal, but will likely worsen in the coming days and plant growth will continue to be hindered.
