This is the last stop in my DIY Retail Tour, another IGA. This time the store is in an underground mall. It was quite busy, bustling with lots of lunchtime shoppers picking up grab-and-go food.
Even though the store was in an urban small format, however, I saw more than just the quick bites to eat. For some reason this, and other stores had an unexpected amount of case- or club store-sized packs of things like mangos, avocados, and clementines. That didn’t really fit with my narrative of urban dwellers with small kitchens shopping often.
