BRENTWOOD, Mo. (December 13, 2018) – The Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) and Produce Business were co-presenters at the Connect with Fresh Media Program — an invite-only lunch workshop for more than 50 influential writers, registered dietitians, lifestyle bloggers, and food and culinary experts, held during the New York Produce Show and Conference at the Javits Center in New York City on Dec. 12.
Attendees listened to opening remarks from Jim Prevor, founder and editor-in-chief, Produce Business, and from representatives of Del Monte Fresh and Melissa’s Produce, the Connect with Fresh program’s sponsors. That was followed by a keynote presentation from Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak, MS, RDN, president and CEO of PBH. The keynote address, A Love Letter to Fruit and Vegetable Haters Everywhere, revealed new research insights to help attendees, who regularly inspire and motivate consumers’ food decisions, reverse current trends and help Americans enjoy more produce-filled meals and snacks.
“I’m excited to engage this vocal and active group of influencers and share our research findings that support a movement to transform how people think about and select fruits and vegetables,” said Reinhardt Kapsak. “This is the first time PBH has partnered with Produce Business, and I look forward to future opportunities to work together and provide novel perspectives and approaches to help consumers eat more fruits and vegetables.”
Reinhardt Kapsak shared emerging research that suggests eating more fruit and vegetables every day not only improves health, but also can positively impact consumer happiness, overall life satisfaction and well-being, too.
“Partnering with PBH on this event was a natural fit,” said Prevor. “I envision this relationship to grow even stronger and evolve as we increase efforts to utilize digital and social media, and other new information technologies to advance, amplify and vocalize the interests of the produce industry.”
