Sourcing Locally
Local Source Logo

“Locally Grown Continues to Take Root” explores the impact of this popular and sometimes confusing industry trend. A new feature recently released by Blue Book Services to help members locate product is Local Source – a database of an additional 20,000 produce growers throughout the continental United States – which is fully integrated and searchable with Blue Book Online Services (BBOS). Find out more about Local Source here: www.producebluebook.com/local-source-data/.

Food hubs (discussed in the article’s sidebar), which also fill a gap in the local source supply chain, have been added to BBOS as well. Members can find these aggregators using “Search Companies.” Simply click on Classifications, then select ‘Food Hubs’ and search.
