Online grocery shopping—a market that nearly tripled in 2020, according to Packaged Facts—represent one area of the online world where Amazon is not dominant.

There is no question that Amazon is an ecommerce powerhouse and a force in grocery retailing, especially online. But the company has faced some challenges as it has worked to expand and strengthen its grocery business, especially when it comes to its brick-and-mortar retail stores.

Amazon's Just Walk Out technology is available in the retailer's Amazon Fresh physical stores. Customers are prompted at the store’s entry gates to choose if they want to use Just Walk Out shopping or the traditional checkout lanes.
