CRAFTON, PA – Monteverde’s BB #:104308, a FreshEdge company, is excited to share the grand opening of its fresh cut operation under the Garden Cut banner in its Crafton, Pennsylvania, facility.

The facility (near Pittsburgh) consists of newly added equipment and incorporates the highest level of food safety measures to ensure quality, safe fresh cut offerings.

Monteverde’s joined the FreshEdge family of preeminent fresh food companies in November 2021. Garden Cut (Pittsburgh) currently provides fresh-cut product to hotels and resorts, healthcare facilities, schools, and restaurants.

This FreshEdge investment positions Monteverde’s to expand its current fresh-cut offerings beyond fruit salad and specialty-cut potatoes to additional items, such as fresh-cut vegetables and other value-added offerings.

“Initial feedback from Monteverde’s customers has been very positive,” said Gloria Garofalo, President of Monteverde’s. She added, “our customers have been complimentary of the quality, freshness, and taste of our Garden Cut offerings.”

Steve Monteverde, COO of Monteverde’s, shared, “we are ecstatic to be offering quality fresh-cut products to our customers.” Expanding upon that, he added “along with unmatched flavor, our fresh-cut program mitigates labor challenges and reduces food safety liability in today’s fast paced and complex environment.”

“This facility will allow us to enhance our service levels to our valued customers in the surrounding multistate area,” said Greg Corsaro, President and COO of FreshEdge.
