IFPA Announces Award Winning Actress, Laura Linney to Keynote Women’s Fresh Perspectives General Session

Washington, D.C. and Newark, De. – International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) BB #:378962 has announced that Laura Linney will be the keynote speaker for the Women’s Fresh Perspectives General Session on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Global Produce and Floral Show held in Orlando, Florida.

The session, titled “Women in Film: Navigating a Male-Dominated Industry” will feature Linney’s insights on her experience in Hollywood. The session does require separate registration to attend.

Laura Linney is a Golden Globe, SAG and Emmy Award winning Actress and Juilliard School graduate who is known for her work in the films Mystic River, Love Actually and The Truman Show along with notable television credits including the Showtime series The Big C and Netflix’s Ozark.

“Women’s Fresh Perspectives portfolio focuses on providing the produce and floral industry with professional development, education and networking through the gender lens,” said Director of Education & Talent, Megan Nash.

“We’re excited to have Laura Linney, a widely recognized talent in her own field to share her experience with gender inequality in a male-dominated industry. I’m looking forward to her dismantling some of our common misconceptions and inspiring our industry to consider how any kind of inequality can put everyone in our industry at risk of discrimination.”

The session is open to all attendees but does require a separate registration. Those interested in attending can add a ticket to the Saturday General Session onto their registration.

Laura Linney is the latest speaker to be shared from the Global Produce and Floral Show lineup. Previously, IFPA shared that IFPA CEO Cathy Burns will deliver the State of the Industry on Thursday, October 27th and the Friday, October 28th morning general session will be led by famed chef and humanitarian, José Andrés.

Following the general session on Friday, the Exposition will open for all at 10am Eastern. For those looking to meet with exhibitors in the Business Solutions segment, attendees will have a special BSP Expo Preview early on Thursday, October 27th from 2:45pm – 4:45pm.

“We know that time on the Expo floor is critical for our members to make meaningful business connections,” said IFPA Vice President of Membership Engagement and Business Development, Anthony Barbieri. “Opening the Expo for two hours on Thursday will mean that exhibitors will no longer have to choose between meeting potential customers in their own booths, and connecting with Business Solutions Providers for their own needs in supply chain equipment and services, packaging, merchandising and more.”

The Business Solutions segment will be located with the Food Safety & Tech X-Change and FutureTEC Pavilions, making for a convenient show floor walk on Thursday and throughout the Expo. Those interested can find the exhibitor list online to see who will be in attendance.

Registration for the Global Produce and Floral Show is open, and can be found on the IFPA event website: https://www.freshproduce.com/events/the-global-produce-and-floral-show/
