With FreshEdge’s latest acquisition, Greg Corsaro, president and COO, says it will allow the company to offer additional product lines.
“We hope to bring additional product lines, continued high quality and service levels, and consistent, reliable service,” Corsaro said, with the “expansion of produce categories, such as organics and specialty produce and expanding value-added offerings, such as fresh-cut, USDA kitchen items, and re-pack items prepared in FreshEdge companies.”
He said the geographic expansion was also key to the deal.
“It expands our presence in the upper Midwest and Michigan, which have always been areas of interest for our family of companies,” Corsaro said.
FreshEdge now employs about 1,500, operates 670,000 square feet of warehouse space, and boasts a fleet of more than 650 trucks.
“FreshEdge strives to be the preeminent family of best-in-class fresh food companies driving success for our customers by providing customized fresh food solutions and exceptional customer experiences through experts who care,” Corsaro said.
“The addition of Vine Line enhances our family and pursuit of this mission.”
