Dragonberry Produce, Inc. BB #:172034 broke ground last week on a building at its Canby, OR, headquarters, considered to be phase two of three.

Company owner and president Amy Nguyen said this new facility will expand both cold and frozen storage when it is completed, which is scheduled for June 2022.

Dragonberry Produce is a family-owned specialty produce distributor.

“Phase two of the Dragonberry campus isn’t just a concrete building but something beautiful and unique,” she said. “Our objective is artwork, and art as our motive. Our interest is in being unique.”

The company’s current building – phase one – was completed in 2013 and was the first green building to be LEED certified for produce distribution in Oregon, Nguyen said.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Oregon’s secretary of agriculture, Alexis Taylor, Canby’s mayor and several city council members, Nguyen said.

She said phase three is several years away.
