In other words, the truck’s job is simply to store the product within the temperature range instructed by the shipper. If temperature readings from both the portable recorder and the reefer download indicate air temperatures within the trailer were properly maintained, then we do not see how the shipper can support its claim based on the facts you describe.

That said, however, especially because this is a recurring problem, your carriers should really be verifying pulp temperatures at shipping point before signing for these loads.
