It's too bad Publix plans to cancel this store concept. I really enjoyed this newer version of the GreenWise market.

Today, Publix opened its first store in Kentucky, entering its eighth state of operation.

Publix is purchasing and delivering 1.3 million pounds of fresh produce to 32 Feeding America partner food banks this holiday season.

“We are delighted to have leaders with the experience of Kevin and John who are ready to take the next steps in their careers,” said Publix CEO Todd Jones.

Twenty-two mobile food pantries are hitting the road, distributing Publix-provided produce to communities throughout the Southeast.

The Healthy Family Project Publix Produce for Kids cause marketing campaign took place May 11 through June 21 with 13 produce companies donating 775,000 meals* to the 35 Feeding America network food banks in the Publix market area.

According to media reports, the company said it plans to convert these stores to the Publix banner and implement concepts from the GreenWise stores, like kombucha on tap, into other locations as the local market demands.
