Pallet Logistics of America, a portfolio company of Silver Oak Services Partners, LLC and an asset-based pallet management services provider, has acquired Pal-Serv, a pallet recycler and logistics provider with pallet management facilities in Dallas, Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Although conversations are occurring within the North American (and global) industry relative to the current acute pallet shortages, we believe that many do not yet realize the factors impacting the situation and the potential scope of the issue, including the availability of produce to consumers.

With lumber prices many times higher than a year ago, wood pallets are more expensive and harder to find, adding cost along the fresh produce supply chain.
