Mango referendum freezes out some provisions

In the referendum, 60% of mango first handlers and importers voting were in favor of continuing the program. 49% of mango first handlers and importers voting were not in favor of frozen mangos as a covered commodity. In addition, 83% of the frozen importers voting were not in favor of continuing frozen mango as a covered commodity.

Mangos move up on rankings at retail

USDA Appoints new board members to the National Mango Board

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue has appointed six members to serve the National Mango Board (NMB). The appointees include two new members and four returning members. Appointees will serve three-year terms beginning January 1, 2020 and ending on December 31, 2022.

Frozen mango referendum passes by 2.5% margin

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced that the mango industry favored the amendment to expand the national research and promotion program to include coverage of frozen mangos. First handlers and importers of fresh and frozen mangos voted in the referendum.
