Pharr, Texas, December 14, 2023: Urapa Produce BB #:349611, a grower-packer-shipper of Mexican tropicals, proudly announces its acquisition of Bland Distribution Services BB #:209942. This strategic move marks a significant milestone for Urapa Produce as it expands its capabilities and strengthens its position in the market.

With this acquisition, Urapa Produce is poised to enhance its logistical and distribution capabilities significantly. BDS, a 110,000-square-foot cold storage facility in Donna, Texas, will play a pivotal role in Urapa Produce’s operations. The facility will serve as a central hub for storing Urapa’s products while also providing in-and-out warehousing services for other importers in South Texas.

Urapa’s CEO, Tony Godinez, a pioneer in cold storage, was one of the first to open cold storage operations in Texas. Godinez, who started his career as a U.S. Customs Broker, brings 30 years of experience in cold storage facility management. Godinez will spearhead the integration of BDS into the company’s operations.
