The Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers BB #:163409 is excited to announce the launch of our “This is Greenhouse Goodness” campaign which has converted the baggage claim area to resemble a greenhouse farm at Windsor International Airport. The campaign is designed to showcase the high concentration of greenhouses, achievements, and innovation of the sector in southwestern Ontario. Residents, guests, and dignitaries arriving in Windsor will experience the benefits of Ontario grown greenhouse produce when entering the region through our educational messaging which promotes the health attributes of greenhouse vegetables and sustainable growing practices our growers adopt.

“The Windsor International Airport represents the dedication and innovation that truly defines Ontario’s greenhouse vegetable growers,” said Richard Lee, OGVG Executive Director. “We are proud to be the largest exporter of fresh, nutritious greenhouse produce that contributes significantly to the economic vitality of our region supporting food security.”

Windsor-Essex is known as the heart of Ontario’s agriculture and agri-tech sector that proudly employs over 32,000 people. The region is one of the largest greenhouse clusters globally, a testament to the exceptional quality and innovation found in our local produce. Each year our farms produce more than 503 million kilograms of fresh, nutritious, healthy greenhouse produce grown right here in Ontario. The designated greenhouse area is planned to remain at the airport over the next two years.
