Sherrington, June 8, 2023 – FMS Fresh Produce BB #:329090, one of Quebec’s leading vegetable production and distribution companies, announces a $15 million investment in new facilities to support its growth and consolidate its most recent farmland acquisitions.
Construction of a new distribution center, a state-of-the-art onion packaging plant and renewed office space is currently underway.
With these new facilities, FMS Fresh Produce will double the total surface area of its head office in Sherrington, Quebec. The new distribution center, which will include 30,000 sq. ft. of refrigerated warehousing space, will improve the pace of receiving and shipping operations to maintain fast, quality service.
The construction of a brand-new 35,000 sq.ft. onion packing plant will enable the sorting, cleaning, bagging and storage of almost 4 times more onions than before. Finally, new office space of 10,000 sq. ft. is also planned, to accommodate the growing number of employees.
In 2021 and 2022, FMS Fresh Produce acquired 930 acres of new farmland, significantly increasing its production volume. With the company’s sustained growth, FMS Fresh Produce needed to invest in new, state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Construction of the new facility began in recent weeks, and it is scheduled to open this summer.
