The rise of Harvest Moon Communications

Harvest Moon – April Ward Final

April Ward brings two decades of marketing and communications experience to her new company, Harvest Moon Communications LLC.

Having spent the last 14 years at the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement, she brings considerable knowledge in fresh produce and food safety.

“I’m probably best known in the produce industry for my public relations work on foodborne illness outbreaks with the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement, but I also have a lot to offer in terms of marketing and branding expertise too,” she said.

Harvest Moon starts with clients such as the California and Arizona LGMAs and is looking for more, she said.

Ward said while the company consists of just herself right now, she has talented network of collaborators, including photographers, videographers, graphic designers, web designers and media trainers.

“Basically, I’m a strong project manager for communications who can work with the creative types to bring your marketing communications project from idea to reality,” she said.

As for the name, Harvest Moon, she concedes it’s inspired by musician Neil Young.

“I have a habit of discovering musical artists later in life,” Ward said. “I discovered David Bowie and The Beatles in my 20’s and Neil Young most recently. Harvest Moon and Harvest are both great albums, but the reason I chose that name is the tie-in to working with agriculture. I think that it helps to summarize how I can help an organization by illuminating the good work they are doing through marketing communications.”
