To Our Valued Customers:
The Public Health Agency of Canada is advising Canadians to not consume Romaine lettuce products while they investigate an E. coli outbreak.
As of December 22, 2017, forty cases of E. coli O157 are under investigation in Canada. There has been one death associated with the outbreak. There appears to be an ongoing risk of E. coli infections associated with the consumption of Romaine lettuce.
Sobeys Inc., out of an abundance of caution, is temporarily removing all Romaine lettuce products from our store shelves nationally until further notice. Products being removed include all Compliments branded products containing Romaine lettuce.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that our voluntary action has caused. The health and safety of our customers remains, as always, our first priority.
