Centre Maraîcher remembers Denise Guinois

Denise Guinois passed November 5.

According to the company, “as far as she could remember, Denise Guinois, was always interested by agriculture. Being born on a farm, she was always willing to offer help and contribute to the daily task of the family farm. By those activities, she could live and develop her passion for nature that she was later able to transmit her passion to her 5 children and then to her 12 grand-children.

“In 1978, Mrs Denise Guinois founded with her husband the Centre Maraîcher Eugène. Always by his side, she was the source of stability and strength for the whole company. She was still a shareholder of the company.

“She worked in the field ever since until this summer, at the age of 85, living and teaching her passion and experiences of gardening to her colleagues, and family members. She brought her contribution during all those years with her involvement in health control of the plants.

“Denise had the power to make every employee feel like they were part of her family at all time.

“Gardening was a real passion, beside her work, one of her main hobbies was to grow plants and vegetables in her personal greenhouse and generously offered the products of her garden to the people around her.”

According to her obituary, she is survived by her husband of 63 years Eugene Guinois Jr.; her five children, Ginette (Christian Houle), Nicole (Maurice Poupart), Daniel (Wendy MacCuaig), Jocelyne (Raymond Coallier), and Sylvie (Jocelyn Primeau); 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
