PRESS RELEASE: Millen, GA (April 6, 2020) – The Southeast Produce Council BB #:191194 distributed fresh donated produce on Friday, April 3, 2020, to those within the Tattnall County area in Georgia. SEPC members packed, shipped, unloaded, re-packed, and distributed almost 70,000 pounds of fresh produce via drive-thru format in order to maintain social distancing and serve as many as possible – 500 families locally and another 500 will be served from food banks that received a portion of the donated product.
SEPC President and CEO David Sherrod states, “The SEPC continues to make a difference in our community and marketing area during this difficult time. Our focus is still to help one another by promoting the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. We are a ‘boots on the ground’ organization that is comprised of some of the most giving and thoughtful companies in our industry. We will continue to serve our members and community through this storm the best way we can.”
