“Misty” the Garden Pixie stars in Wish Farms augmented reality promotions

Wish Farms Augmented Reality

PRESS RELEASE: Plant City, FL (October 11, 2019) – International grower and year-round marketer of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, Wish Farms BB #:111764, has always prided itself on being an innovator in the produce industry. Continuing that tradition, they are pleased to announce a preview of leading-edge technology at PMA’s Fresh Summit in Anaheim on October 18th and 19th.

Wish Farms’ plans to bring their refreshed labels to life through the use of augmented reality (AR) by way of a new branded smartphone application.

Merriam-Webster defines AR as an enhanced version of reality created by the use of technology to overlay digital information on an image of something being viewed through a device.

“We’ve had a great time working on this project,” said Michelle Sulzer, Chief Creative Officer and Founder of Sulzer Inc., “Using augmented reality to bring Misty to life is a natural choice to drive brand engagement. The possibilities with the technology are endless.”

Once the Wish Farms app is downloaded and opened on a smartphone or tablet, the viewer will hover the camera over the Wish Farms label. A video will appear overlaid onto the label through the display.

“I wanted us to be the first in our industry to utilize this technology,” said owner Gary Wishnatzki, “Misty is such an asset to our brand. Bringing her to life in this fun way is just another chance for us to connect and get more people excited about being a Wish Farms berry lover.”

Marketing Director Amber Maloney: “This first video is a great introduction to Misty. In the future, we can see opportunities to do tailored videos for holidays, recipes, contests, and much more.”

The application will be available to the public in January of 2020, and compatible with any Wish Farms label across all four berries. In addition to the AR video, the app will also feature grower profiles, recipes, tips and a consumer feedback dashboard. For each download, Wish Farms will donate a meal to those in the community that need it most.

The AR technology will be on display at the PMA Fresh Ideas Showcase, and available for attendees to demo in person at Wish Farms Booth, #4337.
