Eastern Propak, LLC, BB #:159451 in Glassboro, NJ, is ready to receive and process more of New Jersey’s fresh options with the addition of new bagging equipment and completion of a new building, connected to the original facility by a hallway.

The new building adds 70,000 square feet to the company’s operations.

Highlights of the new construction include six cooler storage units with 4,800-pallet capacity, two of which are freezer capable; 15,000 square feet of dedicated, customized temperature-controlled repack space; and a 9,000-square-foot office mezzanine for clients. The new cooler space is being utilized this summer for blueberries and blackberries.

Jeff Danner, general manager, said Eastern Propak also installed two new bagging lines to accommodate its growing volume of citrus, and is upgrading its stone fruit packing line too, which packs over 500,000 boxes each summer. Danner says the upgrade will not only improve food safety but finished product quality.

Nardelli Brothers, Inc., BB #:101204 Cedarville, NJ, has also expanded operations by implementing “a new repack corn line where we overwrap corn for retail and foodservice,” said Bill Nardelli Jr., secretary and treasurer.

To increase output, the company has planted more white, yellow, and bicolor corn. This year marks the first year of repacking beans, corn, and squash entirely with the new machinery. Another addition to its product line is a variety of hot peppers.
