Trust-but-verify food safety put into action

This includes reviewing regular food safety audits and corrective actions, unannounced audits, and visiting farms and facilities on a regular basis.

For over 20 years, DRS has worked with Independent Purchasing Cooperative, a Subway franchisee-owned company, to develop strategic supply chain plans for fresh produce for more 27,000 Subway restaurants in North America.

In the latest column for the Center for Produce Safety, Spinazzola speaks to the importance of trust-but-verify in building a food safety culture between buyers and suppliers.

Mike and I talked about verification and how he’s helped implement some of the recommendations that have come out of CPS research.
