Countdown to PMA Fresh Summit 2018

DALLAS — With less than two months remaining until Fresh Summit 2018 in Orlando, I caught up with Cathy Burns, chief executive officer of the Newark, Del.-based Produce Marketing Association after her talk at the Dallas Fresh Food Association meeting held Aug. 29.

Burns said besides the annual opportunity to network and come together that Fresh Summit brings to the industry, she hopes members will get a lot out of a reimagined lineup of education sessions.

“We talk a lot about innovation and disruption, and we’ve applied that to Fresh Summit this year based on the feedback we’ve received from the Fresh Summit committee while still holding the essence of the connections and networking and a homecoming for our industry,” Burns said.

This year’s show features what PMA is calling “4 Big Topics. 4 Big Voices. 4 Forums for the Future.” including speakers like Peyton Manning, Greg Williams, editor in chief of Wired Magazine, among others, in large format sessions, which PMA says aren’t workshops, but “inspiring large sessions that bring everyone together for engaging content.”

Visit FreshSummit.com for more information on this year’s event, planned for October 17-20 in Orlando, Fla.
