Schmieding Produce Acquires Moore’s Produce

Schmieding Produce, LLC (a subsidiary of Woerner Food & Ag Group, LLC) is pleased to announce the acquisition of North Carolina-based watermelon distributor Moore’s Produce. Moore’s Produce has supplied top quality watermelons to chain stores and distributors across the United States and Canada for more than 20 years.

Schmieding Produce is one of the largest shippers of watermelons in North America with a network of growers spanning most of the major production areas. The Company also is a large supplier of potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, and other fruits and vegetables to chain stores, major processors, and terminal markets across the United States.

Woerner Holdings, L.P. has a broad range of investments in farmland and agriculture. Woerner acquired Schmieding Produce in April, 2015 and sees this acquisition as another key strategic move in furthering its investment in the fresh produce industry.
