Knight Transportation Reports First Quarter 2017 Revenue and Earnings

In the first quarter, the trucking segment achieved an adjusted operating ratio of 89.5% compared to 82.0% for the same quarter last year. The operating ratio was negatively impacted by a decrease in revenue per tractor, excluding fuel surcharge, of 3.2%, year over year, attributable to a 2.3% lower average revenue per loaded mile, a 1.0% decrease in average miles per tractor, and a 10 basis point improvement in our non-paid empty mile percentage.
